La Candela Peruvian Restaurant
Elvin and Elizabeth Paulino opened Hicksville’s first Peruvian restaurant in 2008 with 20 seats. Today, the restaurant spans two locations. “We’ve been running for over 12 years, and it gets better every year,” says Elvin Paulino. “It’s simply excellent traditional Peruvian cuisine. For many of our customers, it’s like being at home.”
On weekends, guests enjoy our signature cocktails, the traditional Pisco Sour or passion fruit Pisco Sour, while the hosts create a warm atmosphere with karaoke on Fridays and live music on Saturdays. Waiters serve bowls of whitefish ceviche — when in season, the sea bass comes from Freeport’s docks — while favored large plates include jaleas, grills, and pastas. Our experience is defined by being pioneers of Peruvian cuisine, and we bring it to your home for your special events, including corporate ones.
